Morning Journal---Measuring inflation

 This Week’s Data

            February retail chain store sales improved over January.

            January factory orders fell 0.7% versus expectations of -0.5%; December’s reading was revised down from -1.5% to -2.0%.

            February nonfarm payrolls rose 175,000 versus estimates of +150,000; unemployment rose to 6.7% from 6.5%.

            The January US trade deficit was $39.3 billion, in line.
