Ukraine
1.
Since 400 BC, Ukraine as a country has
never existed until the twentieth century when----Russia created it.

Kiev was the capital of the Russian people
until the Mongols ran them out.

3.
Eastern Ukraine is part of the homeland of
the Cossacks who are a rich part of Russian military history. Ethnically, Cossacks are not Ukrainian.

Fighting for independence
is certainly worthy but there is no historical basis for the Ukrainians having
independence. I have sympathy for the
desire for independence. But if the
desire for independence is the criteria, what about the Kurds who have been
much more friendly to the US than Ukraine.
4.
George HW Bush and the entire NATO
leadership promised Gorbachev that there would be no eastward expansion of NATO.
Then, the West reneged.
To end the Cold War and
bring down the Iron Curtain, US/NATO recognizes Russia’s security concerns,
then sticks it to them.
So,
the US recognized that Russia had existential concerns about its western
border. With regard to Ukraine, look at
the map. Small wonder that Russia is
ready to go to the mat on this issue.
Just imagine the US’s reaction if such an occurrence were to occur in
its backyard---oh, but wait we know. It
was called the Cuban missile crisis.
On the other hand, Russia
hardly represents an existential threat to the West unless it pushes Russia to
the nuclear brink.

And whose money are these guys stealing?

Two years ago, we were
calling these guys crooks; now they are freedom fighters.
Meanwhile back in the US,
(9) the national debt is at a record level,
(10) the deficit is enormous,
I refer you to the
Rogoff/Reinhart study that shows that high levels of government debt negatively
impacts economic growth.

(11) Texas is being invaded by tens of
thousands of illegal immigrants a month, many carrying Fentanyl [which poses a major risk to
the US population]---and God knows what else.
To summarize, having
promised not to do so, the US is sending billions of dollars, much of which is
going into the coffers of the ruling
class, to Ukraine, a country that never existed prior to its creation by Russia
in order to win its independence from Russia which views such a development as an
existential risk instead of taking care of problems at home which threaten not
just Texas but the US as a whole.
