            August construction spending increased 0.6% versus estimates of +0.4%.

            The International Council of Shopping Centers reported weekly sales of major retailers up 1.4% versus the prior week and up 3.2% versus the comparable period last year: Redbook Research reported month to date retail chain store sales down 1.5% versus the similar timeframe but up 2.8% on a year over year basis.

            The October Richmond Fed manufacturing index came in at 1.0 versus September’s reading of 0.0.

            Weekly mortgage applications fell 0.6% while purchase applications rose 1.0%
